This qualification is for anyone working in the malting industry. Candidates will often be employed as a senior operator or technician in a malthouse or will be graduates or managers new to the malting business. You will gain a solid grounding in the science and technology of malting and develop your knowledge of packaging best practice - vital to becoming a qualified professional maltster.

You will learn about different cereal types, barley growth and harvesting, the steps in the malting process, speciality malts and their relationship to alcohol production as well as health and safety and environmental issues.

Who is this Qualification for?
