Having sat on the IBD Southern Section Committee for four Years, Mat Henney is the current Southern Section Vice Chairman. He is an IBD qualified Diploma and Master Brewer with over fifteen years’ experience across Small & Regional Brewing and Technical Sales, most recently heading up Group Quality and now Production Manager roles at St Austell Brewery. When not drinking a delicious pint of cask Tribute Mat most enjoys a fresh Saison Dupont and is a keen freediver and spearfisherman.

Retired brewing industry leader with global business experience for Guinness, Pilsner Urquell and Miller Brewing in Africa, USA, Asia and Europe. Understands small brewery business with experience from a personal perspective in the UK.  Now concerned with the development of the next generation of brewers through the Institute of Brewing and Distilling, volunteering to support early career Brewers with events, international study tours and conferences. Sharing my passion as an International Master Brewer with brewers, beers and brands.
