How do I Record my CPD?

Continuing Professional Development for CIBD Members

How do I record my CPD?

There are no fixed requirements on how and where you record your CPD, but we may ask to see it. There are different ways to record your CPD for example:

  • On your CV
  • On your LinkedIn page
  • In a spreadsheet
  • On notes in your phone
  • In a professional development plan at work

If you would like to record and reflect on your CPD online, we have created a My CPD area  for anyone to use, that will stay with you throughout your career. You can upload any type of file and write a reflection against each CPD activity. Best practice is to focus on the impact of your CPD and not just on how much time it took. Within the My CPD area, there are some questions to prompt that reflection:

  1. What did I learn?
  2. What did the learning experience tell me about myself?
  3. How does this learning experience impact my professional practice and the way I'll approach situations in the future?
  4. What do I need to do next for this learning experience to have a wider positive impact (e.g. on others, my organisation, the sector, the profession, society)?

If you are willing to share any good examples of CPD,  or if you have any questions or comments about CPD, please contact cpd@cibd.org.uk
