Join us for a workshop in partnership with the University of Salford, where you'll gain valuable insights into the latest sustainability research and funding opportunities. In the evening, continue the conversation over beer, networking, and a fun-filled quiz.

Workshop (12:30PM - 5PM)

Are you a craft or larger brewery looking to invest in more sustainable practices and innovative brewing solutions? Join us for a free-to-attend afternoon workshop in partnership with the University of Salford to explore recent research and funding opportunities that can transform your brewery’s operations. Discover sustainability projects that reuse waste streams and reduce CO₂ emissions, developed with local brewers.

What to expect

  • Discover sustainability projects that reuse waste streams and reduce CO₂ emissions, developed with local brewers.
  • Learn from the Head Brewers of Marble, Cloudwater, and Lark Hill Breweries as they share how the University of Salford R&D has helped their business and processes.
  • Gain expert insights from University of Salford specialists on how they can support craft and larger breweries with gaining access to funding for R&D projects.
  • Enjoy a guided tour of Lark Hill Brewery, located on-site (please wear sensible shoes for the brewery tour.)

AGM and Quiz (6PM - 9PM)

After the workshop, stay with us for an evening of networking, beer, and brewing trivia!

We will welcome Beth Eaton as the new Great Northern Section Chair and confirm the committee for the next 12 months. You can view the 2024 AGM Minutes and the 2025 AGM Agenda on the CIBD website. Then, test your knowledge with Quizmaster Graeme Hall, who will challenge us with a mix of general and brewing-related knowledge while we enjoy a light supper and beers from Lark Hill Brewery in their taproom.

Salford Cresent train station is 5 minutes walk away.
Pay and Display car park behind, free after 6pm.
