Join us at the first Southern section event of 2025! We will kick off the event with the AGM, followed by insightful talks from our speakers from the Drinks Trust, The Carling Partnership, and the CIBD, including a talk on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. There will also be chance to tour Camden Town Brewery! We will finish the evening with a bite to eat and some time to socialise and network.

Please note that there will be a short health and safety induction at the start of the event.

Speakers:

  • Anton Lovatt, Fundraising and Partnerships Manager

Anton is the Fundraising and Partnerships Manager and has been working for The Drinks Trust for 4 years, managing the department for the last 2. With over 10 years’ prior experience in the drinks and hospitality sector across a variety of sales roles, Anton manages the day to day relationships with The Drinks Trusts existing business partners, donors and any businesses from the trade looking to support the charities wide range of services. Anton will give information on the services offered to CIBD members by the Drinks Trust.

  • Julie Carling, Recruitment Director at The Carling Partnership Limited

Julie will give insight about trends in recruitment and update on the Brewers Benevolent.

Julie Carling has been working in the world of international drinks recruitment for over 20 years.  She has built an extraordinary network of contacts in the brewing, distilling and beverage sector through industry events in Africa, Asia and Europe, seeking out the brightest talent in the marketplace for the Company’s clients and helping candidates establish rewarding careers in our great industry.  

Julie is also the Secretary to the Incorporated Brewers’ Benevolent Society working with the Committee of Management to support fellow colleagues during difficult times and promoting the bursary scheme to help those in our industry looking to further their personal development.

  • Hollie Stephenson, Head of Site Operations – Guinness Open Gate Brewery

Hollie is the Head of Site Operations for the in-construction Guinness Open Gate Brewery, London. She has been working for Diageo for 7.5 years where she has opened new manufacturing sites for beer and gin. She began her brewing career in American craft breweries 15 years ago, and spent four years as Head Brewer of the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore, Maryland, before joining the London project 1.5 years ago. 
Hollie will talk about Diageo’s Inclusion and Diversity initiatives.

  • Kathryn Thomson, Head of Education and Professional Development, CIBD

Kathryn will take any questions you have about Education, CPD and Chartership.

  • Tom Shelston, CEO, CIBD

Tom will take any questions you have about the CIBD.
