Join us for a tour of a thriving Microbrewery specialising in bottle and cask conditioned beer followed by a tour of Europe’s biggest specialist rum distiller.
Welbeck Abbey is one of the great English Mansion houses set in the centre of one of the great historic Estates of Nottinghamshire. The Estate itself now houses a number thriving businesses and an artisan village.
Welbeck Abbey Brewery was established in 2011 under the stewardship of manager, Claire Monk, since when the brewery has built a reputation based on quality cask and bottle conditioned ales with a strong local and national distribution. The first part of the event is a tour of the brewery with Claire who will discuss balancing the pressure of running a microbrewery whilst maintaining a commitment to quality.
Located a few yards away is DropWorks, Europe’s Largest Rum Distillery. This is a great opportunity to understand how this modern British rum producer combines the finest molasses, its own unique trinity ale strain and maturation across three aging locations to craft its unique characterful rums.
