Join us for an engaging evening at St Austell Brewery, exploring recent technical projects and developments. The session will feature presentations from the St Austell Brewery team and industry experts, followed by an interactive quiz and refreshments.
What to expect:
- A presentation by the St Austell Brewery team on the R&D and commercial scale up of Proper Job 0.5% with a focus on quality considerations.
- This will be followed by a talk from Derek Orford (Murphy and Son) on the importance of heavy metal ion control in beer flavour stability and how this can be managed.
- Last but not least, a QI style quiz to test your knowledge: A “fun” quiz covering the science and technology of brewing, loaded with questions guaranteed to get the klaxon going. Attendees use an online voting app to answer a series of questions before the correct answer is revealed and what we currently know about the topic is discussed. Questions cover the entire brewing process from barley kernels to bottle crowns as we expose common myths and areas that are greyer than many believe. Each question has been designed to be as entertaining and enlightening as it is contentious. Glittering prizes are on offer!
There will be a complimentary pasty and liquid refreshments for all attendees.
The train station is a short walk from the brewery and there is also on site parking.
