  • CIBD Homebrew Competition 2025 on 19th April. This year, the competition will take place at the Biscuit Factory Beer Festival, offering home and amateur brewers the chance to have their beers judged by industry professionals and the public.
  • Inside the Welbeck Estate: Cask Ale Brewery and Rum Distillery on 24th April. Join us for a tour of a thriving Microbrewery specialising in bottle and cask conditioned beer followed by a tour of Europe’s biggest specialist rum distiller.
  • Brewing Diploma Module 1 and 2 Exam Revision Sessions on 29th April and 7 May. The Midland Section invites candidates taking the Diploma in Brewing Module 1 and Diploma in Brewing Module 2 (June 2025 exam) to exam preparation sessions.
  • Social meeting at Hook Norton Brewery on 1 May. Explore a traditional Victorian ‘tower’ brewery, where the brewing process flows from floor to floor - mashing at the top, boiling in the middle, and fermentation and racking at the bottom.
  • Ahascragh Distillery Visit & Talk on Spirit Quality Analysis on 2 May. Experience a guided tour of Ahascragh Distillery, Ireland’s first eco-distillery of scale, and discover the latest innovations in sustainable distilling.
  • Research and Robotics Tour on 2 May. Find out more about the latest whisky research and the applications of robotics in the drinks sector.
  • BritHop 2025 on 8 May. Hosted by the University of Kent, in collaboration with the British Hop Association, Wye Hops, and leading brewers, this event will bring together industry professionals, researchers, and growers to explore cutting-edge developments shaping the future of hops and brewing.
  • Sustainable Spirit Production on 1 May. Ideal for distillers and anyone with an interest in sustainable drinks production, this visit will showcase how Cooper King Distillery operates entirely on renewable energy. 
  • Lunch with Senior Members on 5 June. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon at the historic Dusty Miller, a Grade II listed pub once known as the meeting place of the infamous Cragg Vale Coiners. Enjoy a tasty lunch and a selection of up to six cask beers.
  • "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy" - Benjamin Franklin on 17 May. Tour a fascinating Trappist brewery specialising in bottle production, followed by a visit to an award-winning pub brewery that produces both bottle and cask conditioned beer.
  • Annual Walk and Brewery Visit on 21 and 22 June. Join the CIBD Great Northern Section for a fun weekend of networking, socialising, and enjoying the great outdoors. Open to members, guests, partners, family, and friends, this event is a fantastic opportunity to connect with others in the industry while exploring scenic walking routes and visiting a brewery.
