Sam has over 10 years’ experience in food and beverage manufacturing across a diverse range of categories, including soups, juices, dairy, and carbonated drinks.

Throughout his career, Sam has been dedicated to continuous improvement, with a particular focus on optimising systems and manufacturing processes. A major area of focus has been in New Product Development (NPD), both designing and managing the NPD process and contributing to technical development projects.

In 2016, Sam moved into the brewing industry, joining Asahi Beverages Australia. There, he helped bring NPD projects to life for a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages produced at versatile manufacturing sites. Currently, he works in Technical Packaging Development, where he has gained broad experience with commonly used beverage packaging materials and their interactions with different types of beverages. Sam also enjoys sharing his knowledge with others in the brewing and packaging industry.

Sam holds a BEng (Chemical) and a BSc with majors in Chemistry and Mathematics from Monash University in Melbourne. He went on to complete the CIBD Diploma in Packaging to deepen his expertise in technical packaging development.

Based in Melbourne, Sam spends most of his time outside work with his wife and two young children. He also enjoys outdoor activities such as mountain biking, cycling, and snowboarding, often followed by a well-deserved cold beer, scotch, or gin.
