I was Head Brewer at Kelham Island Brewery for 7 years and after a short spell owning my own brewery became a Technical Sale rep at Murphys helping brewers, cider and wine makers and distillers improve and optimise their processes withthe use of processing aids. I currently sit on the Industrial Advisory Board for the International Centre for Brewing and Distilling at Heriot-Watt University and have a real passion for helping brewers and distillers develop their careers through education and networking. (I also really like cask ale!).
Secretary
Jayne Hewitt
I am fortunate to have worked in brewing my whole career, in various quality focused and brewing roles in both the craft sector and for a multi national company. These insights and commitment to learning has more recently given me an opportunity to work for the IBD as an examiner. It feels a privilege to now be part of the journey many brewers are now taking to further their own careers as I did years ago.
As secretary for the IBD Great Northern Section, I get to meet with brewers, distillers and associated suppliers form all over the North of England and beyond, and support both virtual and in-person events for CIBD members.
My current role as Quality manager for Ossett and Salt Breweries brings together many years and experiences to help ensure we brew and package the highest quality beers.
